ClickUp subtask custom fields: a planned service to keep chosen fields in step with the parent task

This page sets out a proposal. The service is not built yet, is not on sale, and may never be built. It would keep chosen custom fields on subtasks in step with their parent task in ClickUp: you would set or change a chosen field on a parent task, and the same value would be written onto its subtasks.

Covers: what the proposed service would do, who it would be for, the planned price, what ClickUp's developer pages say it would rest on, and what one press on this page counts. Doesn't cover: ClickUp's plans for the product, any other product, or a promise that this service will ever be built. Guidance only, not a recommendation of any product. An independent service. Not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by ClickUp. Read the developer pages below (4 November 2026) and check the count yourself.

What the proposed service would do

You would choose the custom fields that should follow the parent, such as a client, a due date or a priority. When a chosen field changed on a parent task, the service would write the same value onto that task's subtasks. You would not have to set each subtask by hand.

Today, keeping subtasks in step means setting each subtask by hand, or building and maintaining your own automation. The proposed service would do that work for the fields you choose.

There would be nothing to install on your computer. The service would run as a hosted service, and you would connect it to your ClickUp workspace with ClickUp's OAuth sign-in.

It would be for workspace admins and agencies that use custom fields on parent tasks and need their subtasks to match, so that filters, views and reports line up.

What it would rest on

The proposal would use ClickUp's published developer interfaces. Three points from those pages matter, and each page was read on 4 November 2026.

What the pages do not settle: they do not say in so many words that a custom field can be set on a subtask by the subtask's own id, and they do not say that a custom-field edit on a parent fires the task webhook at every level. Both points would have to be settled before anything were built. Nothing here promises that they can be.

ClickUp's rate-limit page records 100 requests a minute per token on its Free, Unlimited and Business plans, 1,000 on Business Plus and 10,000 on Enterprise.

The planned service and its planned price

GBP 8 a month is a planned price, planned for UK businesses only.

The proposed service would be offered per workspace at the planned price above, if it is built. That price is not an offer, and no payment is taken on this page.

This page is a test of interest, not a shop. There is no payment form and no email field anywhere on it. Pressing the button records one anonymous count for the day, and a short tag if the link you followed carried one. One press is allowed per page load; reload the page and you can press again.

Not on sale yet. This service does not exist yet and may never be built. No payment is taken. Pressing only counts your interest.

How this page is checked

Every statement of fact on this page comes from the source readings recorded on 4 November 2026 and listed below, with the day each page was read. No web source was re-fetched for this build. A test fails the build if a banned word appears, if the button is not exactly the required wording, or if the page carries a field, a form or an outside script. If a source changes or we find an error, we correct this page and record it here. Read 4 November 2026.
